Bayed Blue Kennels

Bayed Blue ... Bayed True ... That's A Lacy Dog

Looking For A Hunting Partner ?

The Lacy Dog is exactly that...and so much more !

In the late 1800's in the beautiful Texas Hill Country a new breed of Working Dog came to be,thanks to the Lacy family. With the drive and ability to work every aspect of an operational ranch, these dogs earned their place in Texas History.  Originally called the Lacy Hog Dog, they have since been referred to as Blue Lacy, Texas Blue Lacy and, rightfully so, the Lacy Game Dog. They can, and will, herd livestock , track wounded game as well as find & control feral hogs.

For those of us in rural farming & ranching areas, we know the importance of ALL of those jobs. More importantly, we know how well a Lacy Dog can do these jobs. They very easily become your right hand "man" or "gal" on a hunt or round up.

The Lacy is a medium sized dog averaging heights of 18" to  21" and weighing between 35lbs & 45lbs. They range in color variances of blue/gunmetal gray , Red (including cream) and Tri-colored . The Tri's are a combination of blue, tan trim and white chest and sometimes the paws. White markings on the brisket and paws are typical in all Lacy colors.

They are agile and intelligent. When given a job to do and the right person/family to do it with, these dogs are the ultimate Best friend. This is a working breed, so it is only natural that they achieve their maximum potential as a worker and companion when they have a job and challenging tasks to do.

In these more modern of times, the Lacy is not without adaptability. Sporting events such as Agility & Fly Ball are potentially great matches for the breed given their speed, intelligence and graceful, yet nimble, movement.

All of that sounds great, doesn't it? Now you are sure the Lacy is right for you & your family?  Slow down ...the real question is not whether the Lacy Dog is right for you, but are YOU right for a Lacy Dog ?

Are You ?

Working breeds require more than love, fresh water, and a healthy diet. They were designed for a purpose and without that they are subject to be come a handful very quickly!! Someone may tell you differently, but believe me, we at Bayed Blue Kennels know these dogs...we grew up with them. There are testimonials to the validity of this argument if you just need a second opinion.

We ONLY place pups in working homes. No ifs, ands, or buts! We have nothing but respect and love for our dogs and, that continues on to their progeny. If you are seriously wanting a working companion then read on....if not.. Thanks For Stopping By
